"You can make a statement by how you dress. Cloths are
really part of an expression; they make a statement about you. It's a sort on
introduction; it’s not you"
Ralph Lauren
There are worlds of clothing and rugged nature of
sportsmanship, they can be dramatized, and all of them share a thing or two
Ralph Lauren. Then there are his brand names “….thirty-nine full-price Polo
Shops, fifty-four shores in the club Monaco chain, 141 discount stores selling
marked-down, damaged and out-of-season Polo, Ralph Lauren, Polo Jeans, Club
Monaco Clothing, and a Ralph Lauren restaurant.”, which appear in Michael Gross
selected biography on him.
There is nothing out here – there are residues of a City
once threshold of many Jewish Americans, this relic is the Bronx, New York,
harbors what was once an epicenter of Jewish life in New York. Yarns, made from
fibers and filament, knotted or woven not splintered into a fabric is part of
the landscape of this culture. Saved from the contagion of a disappearing City
is perhaps an American Icon, Ralph Lauren.
Ralph Laurent Inc. was founded in 1967 and on June 12th,
1997, the company went public selling at $26 a share, with brain surgery,
mid-life crisis, and Portrait of the design or should we try to comment on his
personal biography and existence. Michael Gross’ selected biography on Ralph
Lauren perhaps did a better a job; he started with his personal life in his
hometown of the Bronx, ended with the evolving nature of the business and
industries. His life story is where I would have ended; the man is his
reputation and his company and family – where I would have started.
No one who survives the Bronx with vituperative energy will fail
to recognize the inner conflicts, some to better things, but others, a
lifestyle is not a distinctive in meaning or envelop meaning, but in the words
of Ralph Lauren, 'It's a sort on introduction; it’s not you"
You are in an NYC flower company meeting in the middle of
new season, you are watching the discussion, the president of the organization
is wearing a Polo Shirt, and the president is not saying anything much but
making affirmative connection. The Polo is Ralph Lauren and very visible and
the president want to know it.
Yarns, made from fibers and filament, knotted or woven not
splintered into a fabric is a part of the landscape of this culture. But from
what is left of his presence in Bronx and New York including the affairs at
City College, it's a brand name that has taken a global form, and it’s ongoing,
and perhaps has a future that is a destiny of his descendants.
Icon and not, some of us if any, that share any hints of
experience with Ralph Lauren, will not fail to find sufficiency in the
comparative experience which for some hardly explains the gaps.
